Infant Room

In the Infant Room at Cornerstone Academy of NWA, we provide a nurturing, safe, and stimulating environment where up to five curious infants can explore, discover, and grow. Our classroom is designed to support each child’s emotional and physical development with care and intentionality. Every interaction—whether through play, conversation, or simple daily routines—is approached with empathy, respect, and patience. Here, infants are encouraged to build confidence, develop trust, and begin forming meaningful connections with the world around them.

Teaching Philosophy

We believe that “The art of teaching is the art of assisting discovery.” This captures the heart of our infant program. Rather than directing, our educators guide and support each child through natural exploration and curiosity. Every moment is treated as a learning opportunity: grasping toys, hearing music, engaging in sensory play, observing classmates, or simply watching the world unfold.
Our teaching philosophy centers on:

  • Respecting each child’s individual pace and needs

  • Encouraging curiosity and early independence

  • Creating a calm, secure environment where infants feel safe to explore

We aim to lay the foundation for a lifelong love of learning by helping each child feel seen, understood, and celebrated.

Expectations

Our goal is to create a warm, loving space where every infant feels valued. We maintain consistent routines, gentle communication, and developmentally supportive activities. Care and learning happen side by side throughout the day.

We prioritize:

  • Physical well-being: Safe spaces for movement, tummy time, and growing motor skills

  • Emotional security: Warm, responsive interactions and comfort when needed

  • Joyful discovery: Age-appropriate play experiences that encourage exploration and curiosity

Above all, our focus is to ensure that each child is both emotionally happy and physically healthy, forming the strong foundation needed for future growth.

Sources of Passion

At Cornerstone Academy, we view early childhood education as meaningful, heart-centered work. We believe that caring for infants is not simply supervision—it is relationship building, emotional nurturing, and gentle guidance during one of the most formative stages of life.

Our passion is fueled by:

  • The belief that every child is capable and deserving of respect

  • The understanding that infants learn best in loving, responsive relationships

  • The desire to collaborate with families to support growth and development

This shared approach ensures continuity and care in the classroom
